Welcome to Gidget!
Becoming a parent is the start of an incredible journey. It’s amazing how such a small person can turn your life upside down. Romantic bliss one minute can collide with exhausted reality the next ... some mothers’ feel isolated and invisible while fathers can also feel confused and overwhelmed … the emotional rollercoaster of those first few months is common. The Gidget Foundation aims to promote a community where parents are nurtured and valued, enabling them to enjoy this special time in life with their young children.
If you unsure about the emotions you are feeling in relation to pregnancy or life with a new baby, please take a look at the Do I Need Help section of our website.
There is also more information about accessing help, facts about perinatal anxiety and depression and organisations that can provide assistance in Information and Resources.
Please call the National Help Line on 1300 726 306 Mon to Fri, 10am - 5pm AEST if you would like to speak to someone immediately.
