Royal Motor Yacht Club at Point Piper
| The Gidget Foundation held its third fundraising event on Friday 12 November 2004 at Zest, in the Royal Motor Yacht Club at Point Piper, raising $35 000 for Tresillian Family Care Centres and encouraged 220 guests to “Start Talking”.
Master of Ceremonies, Claudia Keech (founder of MotherInc) did a wonderful job. Dr Catherine Fowler, Manager of Education and Research at Tresillian, outlined how the Gidget Foundation funds would be put to excellent use, announcing the Gidget Scholarship which has been established to ensure ongoing training for nurses in the area of Perinatal Depression and Anxiety. Hayley Lewis was our special guest speaker; her talk reaching into the soul of everyone in attendance, sharing her first hand experiences with Perinatal Depression. Hayley reinforced the fact that Perinatal Depression is not selective and that it can touch anyone and everyone. |
